As a burlesque performer in a remote northern community, I try my best to make my own costumes when possible using a variety of found, gifted, thrifted, repurposed, recycled materials alongside new materials. While it does take more time and effort to construct, it aligns with my aspirations to avoid fast fashion when possible, reducing textile waste, and challenging myself to learn new skills.
