this mini zine accompanied a mason jar mending kit. The story outlines how to thread a needle, as shown by ermines Ernie and Joanie.

The mending kit consisted of:

mason jar, pin cushion lid, yarn/tapestry needle, needle threader, pins, needles, thread, measuring tape, buttons, safety pins, and patches made from repurposed materials

I wanted to make something that encouraged folks to explore ways to take care of their garments and other textiles to reduce textile waste and impulse fast fashion purchases.

Ernie and Joan were my maternal grandparents, both skilled artists in their own right (Ernie as a woodworker and Joan as a fibre/textile artist)
